Having never truly experienced the feeling of "homesickness" is hard to explain to others. Oh sure, I like to get back to where all my stuff is. I like my stuff. But there's no ideal "home" that I pine for. I don't long to return to "the good years." Every year since I left was progressively better until it plateaud some time in my late 30s. How do you even connect with people who have such a wildly different view of the arc of their lives??
