I came to the US in 1990. I would say this country has gone backwards socially since that time. I think that's partially because as people get older, they get more fearful. The Boomers were still in their 40s and 50's then. They hadn't been poisoned by Fox News yet.

There really weren't any Fox News types of channels on TV.

Then the FCC repealed the Fairness Doctrine, and here we are.
