Weddings are terrible, Pt. 3

I can't find this story anymore, so writing what I remember for posterity.

A bride called up her parents and her in-laws and asked her to meet with her the weekend before her wedding. They all show up, and she tells them that she has a confession to make. She went $40,000 over budget, and she needed them to start writing checks to cover the overages. Mind you, she'd had a $60,000 budget to begin with. She thought she could pressure them into paying because the wedding was so close.

Both sets of parents told her to go to hell and ended up not paying a dime. She was crying and saying that they were ruining her life, but they stood their ground. The wedding didn't happen, so I'm assuming the $60,000 was lost. Not sure what the bride did after that, but I hope she learned a lesson about trying to manipulate people into paying for your bad decisions.

This was the first time I'd really gotten a glimpse of how entitled some brides can be. But, in the intervening years, reading stuff on AITA on Reddit, the parents will usually enable the bad behavior.
